A well-planned team event can do more for a team than yet another meeting in the conference room. There are many ways to organise team building in Warsaw, and the key is to match the format to the number of people, the budget and the goal: better collaboration, a reward for a project or simply an evening together.
Below you’ll find ideas split by group size – from small teams of 10 to whole departments that turn up a hundred strong – plus a sample afternoon-and-evening plan and practical tips for the organiser.
Where to start with team building in Warsaw
Start with the goal. An event designed to help new starters get to know the team is planned differently from a reward after closing an important project. Then settle the number of participants, the budget per person and whether the event takes place during working hours or in the evening. Also gather information about dietary requirements, mobility and who doesn’t drink alcohol – a good team event is one in which everyone can take part on their own terms.
Teams of 10–20: small-scale and active
1. Cooking or cocktail workshops
Cooking together under the eye of a chef, or learning to mix cocktails, is a team activity in which everyone has a job and the results end up on the table. In a small group, everyone works at their own station and nobody is left on the sidelines.
2. An escape room for several teams
Split your team into groups of 4–6 and race against the clock in neighbouring rooms. Warsaw has plenty of escape rooms, so it’s easy to find a venue running several scenarios at once. After the game, stay for a short debrief – who took the lead, and who found the crucial clue?
3. A tasting at the Polish Vodka Museum
At the former Koneser vodka factory in Praga, the guided tour comes with a tasting, and you can move straight on to dinner around plac Konesera (Koneser Square). It’s a good idea for a team that prefers conversation to competition. You can read more about Koneser and other places in our list of things to do in Warsaw.
Teams of 20–50: a shared adventure
4. A city treasure hunt in the Old Town or Praga
Teams armed with a map and a list of tasks solve puzzles out in the city, take photos and collect points. The Old Town and the Royal Route offer plenty of historical clues, while Praga adds atmospheric courtyards and shrines. You can book the game through an event organiser or put it together yourself using walking routes.
5. A cruise on the Vistula
Sightseeing boats set off from the Vistula Boulevards near the Copernicus Science Centre, and you can also hire a boat for a private cruise for your group. The city skyline seen from the water is impressive, and it’s easy to combine the cruise with food and drinks on board.
6. A private tram with a team-building programme
A party tram is a club on wheels with a professional sound system and club lighting that travels through central Warsaw with only your team on board. On the way you can enjoy team-building games, a flair bartending show or a live performance, with photo coverage or an HD souvenir video to capture it all. We have offers for smaller groups of up to 30 people and for larger teams – you’ll find the details on our corporate tram parties in Warsaw page.
Teams of 50–100: an event on a grand scale
7. A tram as a spectacular transfer
With a large group, a tram can replace minibuses. It can set off from almost any tram stop – usually the one closest to your office, hotel or conference venue – and finish near the restaurant or club where you’ve planned the rest of the evening. If your team is large, we can plan a ride with several trams so that the whole group parties at the same time. On the way you can pass the Palace of Culture and Science on Aleje Jerozolimskie, cross the Poniatowski Bridge or ride through the W-Z Route tunnel under the Old Town.
8. An outdoor company picnic or sports day
In the warmer months, a day outdoors is a great choice: team competitions, a barbecue and a chill-out zone. Venues and green spaces just outside Warsaw can host very large groups, and the programme can be designed so that everyone finds something they enjoy – from competition to a relaxed chat over food.
9. Dinner with entertainment
An evening at a restaurant or event venue with a performance, a DJ and a short formal part is a classic for larger team events. It’s worth starting with another activity – a treasure hunt or a tram ride – so that everyone arrives at dinner already relaxed.
10. A reward for the team to use later
If it’s hard to get everyone together on one date, consider a voucher. A tram party voucher is valid for 6 months, so the team can choose a convenient day themselves – a great reward after closing a project.
A sample team-building plan for 40 people
- 15:00 – the treasure hunt starts on plac Zamkowy (Castle Square)
- 17:30 – finish line, wrap-up and announcement of the winners
- 18:30 – a private tram ride from the stop nearest the finish, with music and a welcome drink
- 20:30 – dinner at a restaurant by the final stop
- 22:00 – an optional after-party around Mazowiecka Street
Practical tips
- Dates – book Fridays and the pre-Christmas period well in advance; your tram enquiry needs to reach us at least 5 working days before the event.
- Logistics – plan the transfers between each part of the programme; with a large group, every change takes time.
- Plan B – for outdoor activities, keep an indoor alternative up your sleeve.
- Budget – ask for a quote tailored to the number of people and the programme, so you only pay for what you really need.
Frequently asked questions
Will a party tram work for a team of 100?
Yes. For large groups we plan a ride with several trams, so the whole team can party at the same time. The price is agreed individually – it depends on the number of guests, the length of the ride and the attractions you choose.
How far in advance should we book a tram for a team event?
Send your enquiry no later than 5 working days before the event – and if you’re aiming for the pre-Christmas period, much earlier, as those dates go fastest. A standard ride lasts two hours; we agree the start, the route and the final stop together when you book.
Can the tram be branded with our company logo?
Yes. The tram can carry a banner with your company logo, and we’ll decorate the interior in your company colours or to match the theme of the event. See also all tram parties in Warsaw.
