Good team building doesn’t have to mean another day in a hotel conference room with a projector. Krakow has so many attractions within a short ride that team building in Krakow can combine activity, fun and good food – and show guests from other cities some of its most interesting corners along the way.
We’ve gathered 10 ideas that work for teams of all sizes, together with a sample plan for the day and practical tips to make organising easier.
How to match the format to your team
Before you choose any activities, answer three questions: how many people are taking part, what is the goal of the event and how much time do you have? A new team that is still getting to know each other needs something different from a department celebrating the end of a big project. Remember those who don’t drink alcohol or aren’t keen on sport, too – the best programme gives everyone a choice. If your team is coming to a congress at ICE Krakow or to a meeting at your Krakow office, team building is easiest to schedule in the evening, straight after the business part.
10 ideas for team building in Krakow
1. A party on a private tram
The party tram can pick your team up near the office, the hotel or the conference venue – you can board at almost any stop. On board you’ll find a professional sound system, club lighting and a welcome drink, and the programme can be rounded out with team-building games, a flair bartending show or a live performance. Companies also often order a banner with their logo, which is displayed on the tram. We describe the full offer on our corporate tram parties in Krakow page.
2. A cruise on the Vistula
A private boat is a good setting for a summer company party or an evening after a conference. Krakow looks completely different from the river, and on deck it’s easy to talk in smaller groups. You can combine the cruise with dinner at one of the restaurants by the Vistula or in Kazimierz. Corporate cruises are organised by our sister brand BoatParty.
3. An outdoor city game in the Old Town and Kazimierz
Teams get a map, tasks and a time limit, and the route leads across the Market Square, around Wawel and through the alleys of Kazimierz. It’s team building and sightseeing in one, which guests from outside Krakow especially appreciate. The game can be run with a mobile app or in the classic version with envelopes. You can tailor the route and the level of difficulty to the participants’ fitness, and it’s worth preparing small prizes at the finish for the best teams.
4. A Bumper Ball tournament
A game played inside inflatable balls is a sport where fitness counts for less than the ability to laugh at yourself. For companies, the organiser brings 10 balls, runs the games as a referee and entertainer, and takes care of music and water for the players – at a hired venue or at a place you choose. Details on the BumperBall Krakow website.
5. Cooking workshops
Making pierogi (Polish dumplings) together or cooking dishes from the Małopolska region is team building that leaves you with more than photos – a dinner prepared with your own hands. It’s easy to split the team between cooking stations and add an element of competition for the best dish.
6. Wieliczka Salt Mine
The tourist route descends more than 100 metres underground, through salt chambers all the way to St Kinga’s Chapel, carved out of salt. The mine lies a dozen or so kilometres from the centre of Krakow, so it easily fits into one day of the programme. Book group tickets in advance. The visit involves a lot of walking, so remind participants to wear comfortable shoes.
7. An escape room against the clock
Escape rooms are great at showing how a team communicates under pressure. Split a large team into groups and book several rooms for the same time – the winners choose where everyone goes for dinner.
8. Laser tag or paintball
Competition with an element of strategy is a good option for teams that like to keep moving. Laser tag is played in indoor arenas, so it works in any weather, whereas for paintball you’ll need to head out of town.
9. A tasting or a bartending workshop
A workshop with a bartender, or a wine or craft beer tasting, is a calmer form of team building that’s ideal for the start of the evening. You can organise a tasting at a brewpub or at a wine bar that caters for groups. If you go for a tram party, you can also book a flair bartending show on board.
10. A jazz evening in the Old Town
To round off the day, book tables at one of the jazz clubs in the Old Town’s cellars. Harris Piano Jazz Bar on the Main Market Square has live music almost every day, and Jazz Club u Muniaka on Floriańska Street is one of the best-known jazz venues in Krakow.
Sample team-building day plan
- 13:00 – an outdoor city game finishing in Kazimierz
- 16:00 – a cooking workshop or a Bumper Ball tournament

- 21:00 – dinner or more fun at a venue close to where the ride ends
Practical tips
- Timing – the minimum notice for booking the tram is 5 working days, but it’s worth planning big corporate events several weeks ahead.
- Logistics – arrange transport between the different parts of the programme, especially for groups of more than 30 people.
- Different needs – provide soft drinks and alternatives for anyone who doesn’t want to take part in physical activities.
- Plan B – for outdoor activities, have a wet-weather option ready.
- Keepsakes – photo coverage, an HD souvenir video or a voucher valid for 6 months are all things we can add to your event. You’ll find the full list on the TramParty Krakow page.
Frequently asked questions
Can the tram pick participants up near our office?
Yes. The tram can start from almost any stop in Krakow, so we choose the one closest to your office, hotel or conference venue. We end the ride wherever it’s easiest to walk on to the rest of the evening.
How is a corporate tram party priced?
Individually. The cost depends on factors such as the number of guests, the length of the ride, the evening’s programme and the service and catering you choose. Describe your event on the offer page and we’ll send you a quote together with a proposed route.
Which activities work best for a large group?
With a few dozen people, exclusive attractions work best – such as a private tram or boat – along with city games in which participants are split into teams. Smaller activities, such as workshops or escape rooms, can be run in parallel for several groups.
