A seaside location, a historic centre and a good choice of hotels mean that a corporate event in Gdansk works whatever the time of year. In summer, your team can sail out into the bay or compete in a beach tournament; in autumn and winter, you can move indoors to museums, restaurants and the atmospheric interiors of Główne Miasto (the Main Town).
Below you’ll find team-building ideas to suit every season, a sample plan for a company evening and practical tips – whether you’re organising an event for a small team or the whole company.
Why hold a corporate event in Gdansk
The Tricity (Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia) is a strong business hub, with IT companies, the maritime sector and major events held at venues such as AmberExpo. Gdansk is easy to reach by plane and by train, and most of the Main Town’s attractions are within a short walk of the hotels. That’s a huge help when part of the team is coming from other cities and doesn’t know the area. Then there’s the sea: a short walk along the beach offers a breather between workshops and dinner, and in the evening it’s easy to move on to a party in Sopot.
Spring and summer – team building on the water
1. A cruise on the Bay of Gdansk
Chartering a yacht or a boat with a skipper is a classic summer team-building activity by the sea. A larger team will fit on a sightseeing boat, while smaller groups can race each other in a regatta on several yachts – a great exercise in cooperation and communication, even for people who have never sailed before.
2. Beach games and competitions
The wide beaches in Brzeźno and Jelitkowo are a good place for a volleyball tournament, a tug of war or team contests led by activity hosts. You can reach Brzeźno from the centre by tram, so there’s no need to arrange extra transport for the whole group.
3. A city game around the Main Town
Teams armed with a map and tasks to solve at Neptune’s Fountain, Żuraw (the Crane) or on Mariacka Street get to know the city better than they would on a classic sightseeing tour. A city game works especially well when some participants are in Gdansk for the first time and you also want to mix up departments.
Autumn and winter – team building indoors
4. Guided museum visits
The European Solidarity Centre and the Museum of the Second World War impress even people who usually give museums a miss. A tour with a guide or an audio guide gives everyone something to talk about for the rest of the evening, and afterwards it’s easy to move on to dinner in the Main Town. Allow at least 2–3 hours for each, and buy group tickets in advance.
5. Hevelianum on Góra Gradowa
The former fort on Góra Gradowa (Gradowa Hill) houses a science centre with interactive exhibitions, and its historic buildings also have conference rooms and a restaurant. It’s an interesting place to combine the business part of the day with a more relaxed programme – and, in good weather, with a panorama of the city in the background.
6. Brewpub dinner and cooking workshops
Cooking together under the guidance of a chef is team building in which everyone finds a role. For a more relaxed evening, choose a brewpub such as Piwnica Rajców beneath Artus Court or Brovarnia on Szafarnia Street, where the beer is brewed on site. Neither idea depends on the weather.
7. Christmas market and the company Christmas party
In the run-up to Christmas, the Christmas market fills Targ Węglowy (Coal Market) and the area around the Royal Route. A stroll between the stalls with a mulled wine in hand is a good prelude to the company Christmas party. Pre-Christmas dates – both for venues and for the tram – are worth booking well in advance.
All year round – a party on a tram
8. A private tram as an event or a stylish transfer
A party tram works both as a stand-alone attraction and as a transfer – for example from your hotel or conference venue to dinner. On board you can have a welcome drink, a dedicated party host, hostesses and bartenders, hot, cold or BBQ catering, team-building games or a flair bartending show. For companies, we also offer a banner with your logo on the tram and vouchers valid for 6 months, for example as a reward for employees. You’ll find the details on our corporate events on a tram in Gdansk page.
Sample plan for a company evening in Gdansk
- 15:00 – a city game around the Main Town or a visit to the ECS
- 18:00 – meet at the hotel and enjoy a welcome drink on board the tram
- 18:15 – a two-hour ride with music, catering and team-building games
- 20:15 – the route ends near a restaurant in the Main Town
- 20:30 – dinner, then an after party for those who fancy it
The plan is easy to reverse: the tram can also collect the team near the restaurant and take everyone close to a club. We agree the start time, route and final stop when you book, and during the ride the party host takes care of the programme and a great atmosphere.
Practical tips
- Date – book the tram at least 5 working days before the event, and pre-Christmas dates much earlier.
- Large teams – for a larger number of participants, we can plan a ride with several trams so that everyone parties together.
- Purpose of the event – team building, a staff reward and a client meeting each call for a different programme, so state yours in your enquiry right away. You’ll find the full list of what we can arrange on the TramParty Gdansk page.
- Payment – the payment method, cash or bank transfer, is agreed when you book.
Frequently asked questions
Can the tram pick the team up from the hotel?
Yes, if there’s a tram stop nearby – the ride can start from almost any tram stop in Gdansk. We finish the route wherever your dinner or after party is waiting.
Can the tram carry our company logo?
Yes. A banner with your company logo can be displayed on the tram, and we can match the interior decoration to your brand colours or the theme of the event.

We price every corporate event individually – the cost depends on the number of participants, the programme and extras such as catering or hostesses. Describe your planned event in the form on our corporate events page, and we’ll send you a quote with a proposed route and attractions.
