Katowice makes a great base for a lads’ trip: it’s easy to reach from all over Silesia and the rest of Poland, the centre is packed with bars and clubs, and nearby you’ll find mines to explore, shooting ranges and go-kart tracks. If you’re the one organising a stag do in Katowice, you’re spoilt for choice – from daytime adrenaline to a party that lasts until sunrise.
We’ve gathered tried-and-tested ideas that are easy to combine into one evening or a whole weekend, a step-by-step sample plan and answers to the questions best men and organisers ask most often.
Where to start planning
First, agree on the guest list, the budget per person and the character of the night. A low-key night out for five is planned very differently from a trip for thirty mates from different cities. It’s also worth discreetly asking the groom-to-be what he definitely doesn’t want – it will save everyone some awkward moments. Getting there is easy: Katowice is well connected by train, and Katowice Airport is in Pyrzowice.
- A small crew (up to 10 people) – a shooting range, an escape room, dinner and bars in the centre all work well.
- A big group – go for an exclusive activity such as a private tram, and split the night into several stages.
- A whole weekend – sightseeing or sport on Saturday, a party in the evening and a Silesian lunch on Sunday to recover.
Ideas for a stag do in Katowice and Silesia
1. A private party tram
A club on wheels where only your crew is partying for two hours. The Star and VIP packages include lighting with lasers, a red carpet entrance and a cooler with ice, and VIP adds a DJ, a bartender and photo coverage. We plan the route with you – for example through the Rynek (Market Square) and along Korfantego Avenue past the Spodek towards Park Śląski (Silesian Park). We’ve described the packages and extras on our stag do tram in Katowice page.
2. A descent into the Guido mine in Zabrze
A typically Silesian attraction and completely different from anything that usually ends up on a stag do itinerary. At Zabytkowa Kopalnia Guido (Guido Historic Mine) you go underground in the szola, the miners’ lift, see old mine workings and ride a suspended railway. On the 320-metre level there’s an underground pub and event space. Tours are guided and must be booked in advance.
3. A shooting range
A stag trip classic that still hits the mark. Shooting ranges in and around Katowice offer group packages with an instructor, several types of firearms and a competition for the best score. There’s just one rule: shooting always comes before the party, never after a drink.
4. Go-karts, paintball or quad bikes
If your crew loves a bit of competition, organise a race on a go-kart track, a paintball battle or an off-road quad bike ride. There’s no shortage of activities like these across the metropolitan area, so it’s easy to pick the one closest to where you’re staying. The winner raises the first toast of the night.
5. A match or a concert
Check the events calendar for the date of the stag do – the Spodek arena and Stadion Śląski (the Silesian Stadium) in Chorzów regularly host concerts and sporting events. Cheering on a team together or seeing your favourite band makes a ready-made first part of the evening. Buy tickets for big events early, as they can sell out fast.
6. A Silesian feast
You need a proper meal before a long night, and in Silesia that’s no problem. Beef roulade with kluski śląskie (Silesian potato dumplings) and red cabbage, żur (sour rye soup) or krupnioki (Silesian black pudding) make a solid base for the rest of the evening. With a bigger group, reserve a table or a private room – restaurants in the centre fill up quickly at weekends.
7. Bowling, billiards and an escape room
A gentler warm-up where everyone gets a chance to shine. A bowling tournament, a game of pool or an escape room the groom has to break out of with his team are great ways to bring the crew together before a night on the town. On request we’ll provide a party host to take you round pubs, bowling alleys and clubs.
8. A night on Mariacka Street
Mariacka Street is the top party address in Katowice, with bars, pubs and clubs within a few minutes’ walk of each other. It’s the most convenient place to end your tram ride and head straight to the after party. At weekends, book a table or a booth for a bigger group.

You can book the tram for the day and time of your choice – just get in touch at least 5 working days before the party, although for weekend dates it’s better to contact us much earlier. We can also help with accommodation and transport – see all our tram parties in Katowice.
Practical tips
- Where to stay – choose a hotel or apartment near the Market Square or Mariacka Street so you can walk everywhere after the party.
- Outfits – matching T-shirts for the crew and fancy dress for the groom look great in photos, and they’re more than welcome on the tram.
- Budget – traditionally the groom doesn’t pay for his own stag do; the rest of the crew split the costs, ideally before the trip.
- ID – clubs and bars may ask for photo ID, so make sure everyone carries an ID card or passport.
