Looking for an idea that will impress the groom-to-be and won’t end in just one club? A stag do in Warsaw gives you a huge choice: from adrenaline on the track and at the shooting range, through a vodka tasting in Praga, to a party on a private tram that takes the whole group through the city at night.
We’ve gathered 12 tried-and-tested ideas – for both day and night – along with a sample plan and a few practical tips. Pick two or three activities for the afternoon and add a big finale.
Before you start planning
First, agree on the number of people, the budget per head and whether the groom should know what’s in store. Larger groups are better served by exclusive activities, and popular places in the capital fill up fast at weekends, so it’s worth booking a few weeks ahead. Also choose one person to keep an eye on the schedule and stay in touch with the venues.
12 ideas for a stag do in Warsaw
1. A private tram party
A club on wheels with only your group on board rolls through the streets of Warsaw, with music playing inside – ours, or yours plugged into the sound system. The Star package adds lights and lasers, a red carpet entrance, a welcome beer or bottles to get you started, soft drinks and snacks, while VIP also includes a DJ, a bartender or hostess, a dedicated party host and photo coverage. On top of that, you can add catering, an HD souvenir video, tram decoration or a live performance. You’ll find the details on our stag do tram in Warsaw page.
2. A go-karting race
A timed race is the simplest way to crown the champion of the night. You’ll find karting tracks both in the city and just outside it. Agree on the stakes beforehand – the loser buys the first round or wears a gadget of the group’s choice until the end of the night.
3. A shooting range with an instructor
Several types of weapon, a short training session and a points-based contest make a stag do classic in the capital. Shooting ranges put together packages for groups, and an instructor takes care of safety. One rule is non-negotiable: shooting first, alcohol afterwards.
4. Paintball or airsoft outside the city
A few hours outdoors, two teams and a scenario along the lines of ‘rescue the groom’. Paintball and airsoft fields operate on the outskirts of Warsaw, and the organisers usually provide the equipment and protective clothing – all you need is a change of comfortable clothes.
5. A match in inflatable bubbles
Bubble football – football played inside giant inflatable balls – guarantees laughs: the collisions don’t hurt, and videos of spectacular falls do the rounds for years. It’s a good option when some of the group aren’t keen on guns or fast driving.
6. An escape room
An hour to solve the puzzles and get out of the room will show who keeps a cool head. Warsaw has lots of escape rooms with different scenarios, from crime stories to horror. A larger group can split into teams and race against the clock in neighbouring rooms.
7. Axe throwing
A target, an instructor and a few rounds of throws – just the thing for a lads’ outing. You pick up the technique quickly, and the competition hooks even those who are sceptical at first.
8. A tasting at the Polish Vodka Museum
At the former Koneser vodka factory in Praga, you’ll learn the history of Polish vodka, and the tour includes a tasting. It’s a calmer start to the evening, and around plac Konesera (Koneser Square) there’s no shortage of restaurants and bars where you can stay on. You can read more about this part of the city in our list of things to do in Warsaw.
9. A match at the stadium
If the dates work out, check Legia Warsaw’s fixtures at their ground on Łazienkowska Street or the events at the National Stadium. Cheering in a crowd of fans gives you a buzz that can’t be faked, and after the final whistle it’s easy to head into the centre.
10. A brewery or a multi-tap bar
Warsaw has a thriving beer scene – from brewpubs to multi-tap bars with a dozen or more taps. A tasting flight of several styles lets the evening build gradually before the bigger attractions.
11. Dinner for the whole group
Steaks, Polish cuisine or a food hall where everyone can choose something they like – what matters is having a table booked for the whole group. Pick a place close to the tram route or the clubs, so you don’t waste time getting around.
12. An after-party on Mazowiecka Street or in Powiśle
For the grand finale, head for the area around Mazowiecka Street, Nowy Świat or Powiśle, where lots of clubs and bars are packed into a small area. With a larger group, book a booth or a table, and remember that popular clubs often have a strict door policy at weekends.
A sample stag do plan
- 14:00 – go-karting, a shooting range or paintball
- 17:00 – a tasting in Praga or a brewery visit
- 19:00 – dinner in the centre
- 21:00 – a party on a private tram
- 23:00 – the clubs on Mazowiecka Street or in Powiśle
You can fit the tram into the plan wherever you like: as the main event of the night, or as a spectacular ride from dinner straight to the club district. Tailor the order of activities to the groom – if he’s into sport, start at the track; if he prefers something more relaxed, start with the tasting.
Practical tips
- Accommodation – a hotel or apartment in Śródmieście (the city centre) or Powiśle keeps travel time to a minimum.
- Getting back at night – night buses run after midnight, meeting at Warszawa Centralna station; there are also taxis and ride-hailing apps.
- Order of activities – plan the shooting range and adrenaline sports before the alcohol, not after.
- A shared kitty – collect the money before the trip and appoint a treasurer, so nobody has to tot up bills during the party.
