After dark, Szczecin takes on a different character. The lights of the port come on along the Oder, the historic cranes glow on Łasztownia, and the outdoor terraces on Deptak Bogusława (Bogusław Promenade) fill up with locals and visitors. Szczecin at night isn’t just about clubs – it’s also a stroll along the boulevards, a concert at the award-winning Philharmonic and beer brewed in Gothic cellars.
We’ve put together a guide to the best places to spend an evening – from a relaxed start by the river to an after party in the centre – plus a sample night-out plan for a group of friends.
How to plan a night out in Szczecin
Szczecin’s centre is compact, so you can link most of the evening hotspots on foot – Wały Chrobrego (Chrobry Embankment), the boulevards, Podzamcze and Deptak Bogusława are only a 15-minute walk or so apart. Start the evening by the river, have dinner in the Old Town or on the boulevards, then move the party towards the Promenade. With a bigger group, agree in advance who books the tables and where you’ll meet each time you change venue.
Szczecin at night: where to spend the evening
1. Wały Chrobrego at dusk
The best place to start your evening. The monumental terrace overlooks the port, Łasztownia and the river, where the lights of the quays are reflected after sunset. On the Embankment’s southern terrace you’ll find Columbus, a restaurant and pub with views over the Oder valley – a good spot for your first drink.
2. Bulwar Piastowski and Aleja Żeglarzy
On the Old Town side of the Oder run Bulwary Nadodrzańskie (the Oder Boulevards), including Bulwar Piastowski (Piast Boulevard) with Aleja Żeglarzy (Sailors’ Avenue) – a line of monuments and sculptures celebrating the city’s maritime traditions. In the evening it’s one of the most pleasant places for a stroll, and the waterside restaurants are ideal for dinner before the rest of the night.
3. Łasztownia, the dźwigozaury and Wyspa Grodzka
Across the river lies Łasztownia, a former port island where three historic cranes, nicknamed dźwigozaury (“crane-dinosaurs”), are lit up after dark. In summer, neighbouring Wyspa Grodzka (Grodzka Island) turns into a city beach with a bar, dances and an open-air cinema. It’s the perfect place for warm evenings.
4. Deptak Bogusława
The main party street in the centre. On ulica Księcia Bogusława X (Duke Bogusław X Street), restaurants, bars and pubs stand side by side, and on weekend evenings the terraces are packed. There’s food for every occasion – from burgers to Italian and Asian dishes – so it’s easy to eat and stay on.
5. Jagiellońska, Monte Cassino and al. Wojska Polskiego
The streets around the Promenade form a single party zone. On Jagiellońska and Monte Cassino you’ll find more restaurants and bars, and leafy al. Wojska Polskiego (Polish Army Avenue) takes you easily to plac Zgody and the Pionier cinema. All of which means an evening of bar-hopping needs no taxi at all.
6. The Old Town and Podzamcze
The rebuilt townhouses around Rynek Sienny (Hay Market) and the lanes below the castle are an atmospheric alternative to the louder centre. You’ll find restaurants, cocktail bars and cafés here, and after dinner it’s a short walk to the boulevards along the Oder.
7. Beer from local breweries
Beer lovers have two essential addresses in Szczecin. Browar Wyszak brews its beer in the Gothic cellars of the Old Town Hall, while Stara Komenda on plac Batorego was the first brewery built in the city after the war. Both also serve a proper dinner, so they’re good places to start the evening.
8. Pubs with history and clubs
Boston Pub is said to be the oldest pub in Szczecin, and fans of an Irish atmosphere can head to Irish Pub Dublin. The clubs are mainly in the centre – from club music and hip-hop to alternative and disco polo, Poland’s homegrown brand of dance-pop. Line-ups change from week to week, so check what’s on before you go out.
9. Culture after dark
The evening doesn’t have to start in a bar. A concert in the golden hall of the Philharmonic, a performance at Opera na Zamku (the Opera at the Castle) or a screening at the Pionier 1907 cinema – one of the oldest working cinemas in the world – makes a great prelude to a night out. In the evening, the Philharmonic’s facade can light up in different colours.
10. A night ride on a party tram
The most unusual way to see Szczecin at night is aboard a private TramParty tram. For two hours the carriage belongs to your group alone: the music plays, the club lights shine, and the route can take you past Brama Portowa (the Harbour Gate), through plac Rodła (Rodła Square) and over Most Długi (the Long Bridge) across the Oder. We usually end the ride near the Oder Boulevards, from where it’s easy to walk to the after party. You’ll find the details on our Szczecin tram party page.

Practical tips
- Bookings – on Fridays and Saturdays, book a table for a larger group, especially at places with views of the Oder.
- Getting back – check night-time public transport in advance or order a taxi; the centre is compact, so it’s easy to walk between venues.
- Weather – it can get chillier by the river in the evening, so bring an extra layer.
- ID – bars and clubs may ask to see ID, so always carry your passport or ID card.
