Looking for ideas for a stag do in Bydgoszcz that won’t fizzle out in a single bar, with everyone asking where to go next? The city on the Brda has everything a group of mates needs: an Old Town with pubs within a short walk of each other, activities for those who love a bit of competition and a few attractions you won’t find in other cities.
Here are 10 tried-and-tested ideas – from a classic pub crawl, through paintball and the Exploseum’s underground corridors, to a private tram with music and lasers – plus a sample plan for the night and answers to common questions.
How to plan a stag do in Bydgoszcz
Before you book the first activity, agree on the number of people, the budget per head and the style of the party. A night for the groom’s five closest mates is planned differently from one for a 30-strong crew made up of family, workmates and the lads from the football team.
- A small group – bowling, an escape room and a pub crawl around the Old Town work well.
- A big group – it’s worth going for an exclusive attraction that brings everyone together in one place, such as a private tram.
- A whole weekend – if the group is coming from different cities, fill the day with activities and save the night for the party.
10 stag do ideas for Bydgoszcz
1. A private party tram
A tram turned into a club on wheels keeps the whole group together and impresses the moment you step aboard. For two hours you ride through Bydgoszcz to your own playlist. The Star and VIP packages add lighting, lasers, a red carpet entrance and a cooler with ice, and VIP also includes a party host, a bartender or hostess, a DJ with equipment and photo coverage. You’ll find the details on our stag do in Bydgoszcz page.
2. A pub crawl around the Old Town
The classic no stag do is complete without. Most bars are around Stary Rynek (the Old Market Square), along the Długa Street promenade and by the Brda, so it’s only a short walk between stops. Plan 3–4 places and book a table at least at the first one – on Friday and Saturday nights, a big group without a reservation may struggle to find space. On request we’ll provide a party host or guide to lead you around the city.
3. Bowling and pool to warm up
A few frames of bowling or a pool tournament is a good way to get the group going before the party proper begins. Team competition is great for bonding a crew who mostly know each other through the groom, and the losers can buy the first round. With a bigger group, book lanes or tables in advance.
4. Paintball in Myślęcinek
The Leśny Park Kultury i Wypoczynku (Forest Park of Culture and Recreation) in Myślęcinek covers more than 800 hectares of greenery north of the centre, and its attractions include a paintball field. Two teams, a few game scenarios and bruises you’ll be laughing about at the wedding – the groom may get special treatment from the opposing side. It’s best to agree the date and scenario with the organiser a few days ahead.
5. Kayaking on the Brda
In the warmer months, you can spend the day before the party on the water. The Brda is considered one of the most beautiful kayaking routes in Poland, and the stretch from suburban Smukała towards the centre of Bydgoszcz is a popular one-day route. Two-person kayaks force you to work together, so you’ll soon find out who in the group can actually steer.
6. The Exploseum underground
For history and technology fans, a highlight will be the Exploseum – a museum in the forest on the city’s outskirts, set in the former German explosives factory DAG Fabrik Bromberg. The route, around 2 km long, leads through production buildings and concrete corridors, and the guided tour takes about two hours. Bring warmer clothes and comfortable shoes.
7. An escape room
An hour in an escape room will show who keeps a cool head and who panics as the clock ticks down the final minutes. It’s a good option for a rainy afternoon – with a bigger group, split into teams and race against the clock, with the winners choosing the first bar of the night.
8. Arrive in style
The groom doesn’t have to turn up at the party in an ordinary taxi. We help with car hire in Bydgoszcz, luxury cars included, plus hotel or hostel accommodation and transport for the whole group. A stunning car at the door is a surprise the groom-to-be definitely won’t see coming.
9. A gig at a music club
If your crew prefers guitars to a club beat, check what’s on at the music clubs in Bydgoszcz – the city has no shortage of venues with jazz, rock and alternative gigs. A concert is a good break between dinner and the late-night partying, and a chance to sing along to the groom’s favourite songs together.
10. Dinner and an after party at a club
A good dinner is the foundation of a great night. Book a table at a restaurant near the Old Market Square – everything is close from there – and after midnight move on to a club. If the tram finishes in the centre, you can walk to the after party instead of hunting for several taxis.
Sample stag do plan in Bydgoszcz
- 15:00 – paintball in Myślęcinek or, in season, kayaking on the Brda
- 18:00 – dinner near the Old Market Square
- 20:00 – two hours on a private tram with music and lights
- 22:00 – pubs around the Old Market Square and on Długa Street
- Midnight – an after party at a club
Book the tram for any day and time you like – at least 5 working days before the party. The ride can start from almost any tram stop, and we usually agree the final stop in the centre, close to venues for the rest of the night. You’ll find other occasions on our tram parties in Bydgoszcz page.
Practical tips
- Bookings – weekend dates go fastest, so book activities and tables in advance.
- Accommodation – a hotel or apartment in the centre is the most convenient choice; we can also help find accommodation for the whole group.
- Outfits – printed T-shirts for the crew and a costume for the groom look great on the tram and in photos.
- Budget – collect the money before the party; the groom’s share is usually split across the whole group.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a stag do on a tram in Bydgoszcz cost?
The final cost depends on three things: the number of people, the package you choose (Basic, Star or VIP) and extras such as catering, tram decoration or an HD souvenir video. Package prices apply to groups of 30 people or more, and for smaller groups we prepare an individual quote. You’ll find the current price list on our offer page.
Can we bring our own alcohol on the tram?
Yes. Bringing your own alcohol is included in the Star and VIP packages, and on board you’ll find a cooler with ice, cups and glasses. With the Basic package, you can add this option as an extra.
How far in advance do we need to book the tram?
Send your enquiry at least 5 working days before your chosen date. For weekend evenings, get in touch much earlier – they’re the first to go.
